The FFA Kickboxing team has been on a tear! Two weekends ago we had Denis “Da Menace” Hernandez (4-1) win to clinch a title shot and Joe Ray (6-0) win by TKO to win the 194 pound title… this past weekend our team was back in action – and the team finished with a clean 4-0 sweep!
Javi Baez made his amateur debut – winning with great boxing skills and conditioning! After Javi, David Lago made his debut as well, winning by KO within a minute! Lago came out blasting, landing powerful punches and quick knees to the body. After Lago, we had Danny “The Columbian Warrior” Chavez win his fight by a bloody 2nd round TKO – improving his record to 2-0. Last up we had Robert Rodriguez who won by unanimous decision – and improved his record to 2-0 as well.
This improves the kickboxing team’s all-time record to 36-7! Not bad for what used to be labeled a grappling school
Over in Texas, on the same day, we had Andrew “Dwayne Wade” Moncrieffe make his MMA debut, but he lost by a quick KO. His opponent landed a well-timed knee that ended the fight. “Dwayne Wade” is ok and will be back, congrats to him for training hard and stepping into the cage.
