Our team has competed in the past three weekends in a row… and last weekend both of our fighters were victorious – improving our record this past month to 6-1!  Last weekend, we had Denis “The Menace” Hernandez and Joe Ray compete in kickboxing at the Warrior’s Collide event in Deerfield Beach.

 

First up was Joe Ray, who coming into the fight was 4-0.  Joe was up against a HUGE opponent, who was undefeated as well going into the fight.  From the get-go, Joe landed a huge knee to the body of his opponent, nearly dropping him and earning a standing 8 count.  From that point on, Joe systematically dominated his opponent with a barrage of punches, kicks, and knees.  Joe landed crippling leg kicks and heavy handed shots to the body and head.  Many felt Joe put on the most technical showing of the night, winning by unanimous decision.  He improved his record to 5-0 and has earned a title shot in the next show!

 

Next was Denis “The Menace” Heranndez!  Denis was facing off versus former FFA blue belt Alex Caceres from the Young Tigers Gym, a rival team.  There was some tension going into the fight, but it paid off for Denis, who nearly dropped Alex in the first round and earned the decision victory.  That improved Denis’ record to 4-1!

 

The FFA kickboxing team is about 20-2 in the past three years!  Amazing stuff, congrats to everyone!
