Where’s Coach Marcos been? I’ve been gone for a while!
I miss everyone over at the gym and I miss teaching. I’ve been gone for the past month or so because I’ve been working in overdrive along with my father Marcos Sr., Coach Che, Coach Mike, David Lago, and Gio Moljo in getting the new Broward gym up and operational.
This has been a HUGE project – and it has been a war to get this gym up… but now its up!
Right now we are letting currents students of Miami switch over to Broward if its closer to them. The Grand Opening for new students is this weekend.
If you would like more info about the Broward school, which is located in Davie, FL, visit www.FFAdavie.com .
I will be back very soon, I’m expecting to be back at FFA, full swing, by May 26. In the meantime, we are fortunate enough to have Coach Enrico take over all my classes.
By the way, I’ve been getting many congratulations emails for the new gym, thank you all for your support!

Hello Everyone!
What are your kids doing this summer?
Do you want to keep them mentally and physically active in a healthy, character-building environment?
From JUNE 9 – AUGUST 8, 2008, we will be hosting our first ever
While you are at work, your kids will be fed, educated and entertained from 8 am until 4 pm. You can choose to have your child attend for one week, 2 weeks, one month or the entire session. We can accomodate you and your schedule.
Activities will include:
If you are interested, please email us at info@ffamiami.com with your full name and phone number and one of our staff will set up an appointment for you to meet & talk to the Kids Program Director, Coach Gus or Ms. Kamla.
Here are a few pics from the BBC Get-Together at Crandon Park! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to personally attend (I am still out of town) but all the instructors told me it was a blast! The next BBC event will be announced soon… and it will be PAINTBALL!
I’m thinking color belts versus white belts! More info coming soon…
Attention all FFA BBC students, we have a special event planned for Saturday May 10!
For BBC Students Only… we are having a Get-Together at Crandon Park this Saturday, May 10 at 12pm. We rented out a shelter and will be serving up a barbecue right by the beach in the beautiful Crandon Park.
All the BBC members and their families are invited. There is no charge except for a $5 parking fee, but the contribution of food and/or drinks is appreciated. Below you will see a checklist of items needed, please make sure to drop a comment on this thread to claim what you will be contributing (this way nobody will bring the same item). Some of the stuff we need more than one, for example, the hamburgers, I put 5 sets. So if you want to bring hamburgers, just sign the comment and put “Hamburgers – 1 set” and that means we still need another four people to volunteer hamburgers. It wouldn’t be fair for one person to buy 60 hamburgers
It is very easy to get to the park, you can mapquest.com the directions, here is the address:
4000 Crandon Boulevard, Key Biscayne, Florida 33149
We are at Shelter #7 which is on “North Beach”. We are meeting at 12pm and staying to about 3pm. If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the staff at FFA (888-332-4967) for more details or email info@FFAmiami.com .
Thanks everyone! And to the rest of you who aren’t in the BBC yet, keep working hard and we’ll see you there soon!
Sincerely,
Marcos Avellan
Head Instructor
