Even MORE Late Congrats…

April 17, 2008

Better late than never! :)   Sorry, I haven’t updated this blog as much as I should, I have been extraordinarily busy getting everything ready for the Grand Opening of our Broward Location.  If you don’t know anything about that, you will hear plenty about it soon! :)

The last late congrats goes out to none other than Glenn Hernandez!  Glenn fought last month in Costa Rica and DOMINATED his opponent with solid striking and grappling – finishing his opponent in the first round by rear naked choke!

Glenn has improved his record to 2-0 in pro MMA!  Give him a big congrats when you see him!

More Late Congrats to…

Joe Ray and Robert Rodriguez for winning their kickboxing bouts at the Warrior’s Collide Event last month!

Below is a description written by Mr. Glenn Hernandez who cornered the fighters:

Joe Ray:
The stare down was intense. The guy he fought came out of Extreme Couture, and was bigger than Joe and older too. He looked like Keith Jardine, but Joe was game and ready. First round Joe set the pace connecting with Jabs and left hook combo’s, gameplan was to attack the body due to his older opponent’s tough chin. He connected with a great display of kickbxing, finishing alot of 3-4 punch combos with great low kicks and left body kicks. The round ended with Joes opponent connecting a wild shot on the chin, hurting joe. He went to the corner concerned, but his corner was able to wake him up and get him in strong. Round two was a great display of boxing for Joe connecting alot of jabs followed by double hooks, following up with left body shots. Good knee exchanges, followed by dirty boxing hurt joe opponent pretty bad on one exchange almost KOing the guy but the guy was game and finished the round strong by blasting joe with wild left hook and overhand rights. Joe would get stunned but show no sign of it and come forward like an FFA soldier. Last round was all Joe, losing all doubt of his ability to eat one to the chin, Joe Ray used his Alabama jail house skills to take the third in a war and show off his FFA boxing skills throwing good bomb left hooks. Joe Ray UNANIMOUS DEC. Joe Ray improved his record to 4-0 and will fight for the title at the next show.

Robert Rodriguez:
This was Rob’s fighting debut!  Rob came in stone cold killer, colder than Mike Bernhards face. His opponent was from Crafton Wallace gym, so we suspected a kickboxing style. Perfect for Rob’s style, the staredown was very relaxed for Rob, the other guy was terified of Robs size for that weight class. First round Rob would start jab and left hooking this guy into a clinch where Rob proceeded to not throw one knee but instead upercut and left hook the hell out of his opponent several times rocking the man. From a ringside perspective Rob was chasing the guy into his left hook everytime. Second round, Rob came out to kill knowing he can finish the fight, buckling his opponent’s legs 3-4 times in the second round only! In the second round Rob must have connected to the head 40-50 times, compared to 1 from his opponent!! 3rd round was where rob timed himself keeping to short hard combo’s, hurtingt he guy into every corner, clinchs and push kicks to keep away from the left hook. Great display of boxing for Rob. Rob by UNANIMOUS DEC.

CONGRATS TO BOTH FIGHTERS!
